Earlier this week, Sword and Fairy 4 Remake received a ton of attention when a new trailer revealed that it was the spitting image of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and there's inevitibly now a lot of hype surrounding its release.

The game was only announced for "PC and consoles" when the trailer arrived, but speaking on social media today, global publisher Cube Game revealed that the team joined the ID@Xbox program earlier in 2025 and have yet to receive their development kits for the Xbox platform.

Here's a look at the tweet:

This is obviously a disappointing situation for everyone involved, and here's hoping they'll be able to get it sorted ASAP in the new year. ID@Xbox ships so many incredible titles on a yearly basis that one or two are bound to run into hurdles, and it just so happens that Sword and Fairy 4 Remake has seemingly been caught up in that.

Whatever happened here, it seems like there's still time to rectify it — Sword and Fairy 4 Remake doesn't have a release date yet, so perhaps it could still arrive on Xbox consoles at launch. Everyone's already ragging on Xbox in the comments on Twitter, but mistakes happen... it's been an amazing 2025 for the ID@Xbox program, and we're sure they'll work with Cube Game to bring Sword and Fairy 4 Remake to Xbox as soon as possible.
