Stalker 2 has just arrived on PS5 following around a year of console exclusivity on Xbox, and with its new multiplatform nature, developer GSC Game World has even more updates planned for the open world survival shooter.
Arriving December 16th "completely free for all owners of the game", Stalker 2: Stories Untold delivers new story quests, new locations, new characters and more. Here's a quick list of what's included in this upcoming Stalker 2 free update for all platforms:
- 8 quests that can take hours to complete
- 7 locations to explore
- 6 characters with their own backgrounds and stories
- A unique weapon
- A hub to create

This new update sounds like a pretty chunky one, then, and we're especially interested in the new quests, locations and that new "hub to create" - which is in the Burnt Forest region of Stalker 2's rendition of Chornobyl. Here's a little more info on that particular addition:
"Your choice matters in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 — and it literally shapes and changes the Zone. It stays true in this new story, as one of the outcomes is a whole new hub appearing in a not-so-populated area of Burnt Forest. Technician, trader, medic, guide — everyone will be there. Of course, including a place to take a nap, and your stash!"
Unfortunately, Stalker 2 recently left Xbox Game Pass after being on the service for about a year, so you'll have to buy the game outright to enjoy its upcoming Stories Untold update. If you're interested in re-entering the zone for this, the game is currently 40% off on the Xbox Store; for the next three weeks or so!
