ROG Xbox Ally Spotted With Price And 'Pre-Order Now' Banner At UK Retailer

I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed it out a month to see if there is more clarity on if tariffs will remain. The supreme court will hear arguments on Nov 5th so a decision would probably be shortly after. Seems like a weird time to release a product, might as well see what happens with that decision first.

Delaying a month would be cutting it close to holidays and they probably already felt tariffs on the already built units but longterm waiting for a resolution on that might benefit them.

I think that the model we are all interested in is the Ally X.

the base model hitting somewhere close to Steam Deck OLED price seems like the logical conclusion given the SoC. The higher model X is the one whose price can be scary.

@BaldB3lper78 don't waste the money. I had one and the 4 gigs of ram wasn't powerful enough to even play remote for Xbox. I had it for a year and it was really good and worth it at first but they never updated it and basically threw any support out the window for it.

@BaldB3lper78 I actually looked into a gcloud since im really just looking for a native streaming device like the ps portal.

Unfortunately the gcloud is apparently not all that good at anything, including its intended function.

@BaldB3lper78 Meh to the steamdeck. I bought one at launch for $650, played it like 10 hours in a year, sold it for $375.

It was clunky, heavy, and annoying to play. I didnt mind the performance when it worked, but half the time steam deck certified games played like crap or required significant tweaks.

I just want a handheld gamepass device that doesnt require me to dig into the desktop to edit crap. Oh, and that isnt a phone with a backbone, those stink too.

For me spending almost $1,000 on a handheld is something I wouldn't do. I already have a PC and playing portable isn't my thing right now.

I think they will reveal the price tomorrow at the Japan show

@BacklogBrad the whole world doesn't revolve around America mate. Asus isn't even a US company so why should we have to wait because of your daft president taxing his own people thinking he is taxing us. Lol. I don't have to pay any tarrif cost.

@CaptnTedo well that was pointless then wasn't it. Like we needed to know. I have a powerful PC as well but a bought a Rog Ally and a steam deck to play if I'm watching TV or if I go away. But I ain't buying another one. Especially as I already have the operating system with the full screen experience on my Rog Ally z1 extreme anyway.

@BaldB3lper78 the price of the G Cloud for what is essentially an Android tablet in a controller body is what has always shocked £300 for that is crazy.

The series S was Microsoft’s saving grace. They could have marketed the heck out of that thing and it would have been perfect in this economy. Instead they bailed on it far too early. Now they’re promoting expensive items in a recession. It just doesn’t make sense.

My one S gripe is it didn’t play Xbox one X enhanced games. That was a mistake. A big mistake.

I don’t even think Microsoft needs to make a new series. What they could have done was simply keep reducing the price of the S and the X. Let PC become the pro model.

@BaldB3lper78 ah ok interesting, I see they made some UI improvements to the whole device which seems to have improved it. There is one for £150 with a carry case at cash converters which seems a better price I agree.

£499.99 is a decent price for this device overall
