Xbox's Latest Series X|S Background Isn't Very Dynamic, But It Does Look Great

We're officially one week out from the release of Gears of War: Reloaded, and to celebrate its upcoming launch, Microsoft has dropped a themed dynamic background on Xbox Series X|S - although the term 'dynamic' is a bit of stretch here.

As you can see in the clip down below, the team has based this off the Gears Reloaded key art, which is a pretty strong base to start from. However, the end result isn't particularly dynamic, truth be told. Here's a clip of the Xbox Series X|S background in action:

One thing that is pretty cool with this latest effort, though, is the fact that Microsoft has actually taken into account the dashboard tiles and ads that will overlay the background. Just like the company's recent 50th anniversary background, this Gears one is pushed further up so that the home screen tiles don't block any of the main image.

Here's a closer look at what we mean:

As you can see there, most of the background is visible even when applied to the dashboard, which is lovely - we just wish it was a bit more dynamic. Anyway, we'll be tempted to rock this one regardless, especially as our hype levels are building for the release of Gears Reloaded here on August 26th.

Will this one be appearing on your dashboard anytime soon? Tell us what you think of the new background down below.
