Update []: We've got a new date for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on Xbox! The Xbox One, Series X and Series S version will now launch on July 10th, as officially announced earlier today.

You'll also find a review roundup for System Shock 2 elsewhere on Pure Xbox:

Original Story: We mentioned in our big "coming to Xbox next week" roundup for June 23-28 that System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster was set for an Xbox release on Thursday, June 26th - but unfortunately that's no longer the case.

Nightdive Studios, which is the fantastic developer behind the likes of the DOOM and Quake remasters, has advised that a last-minute issue with the console versions has prevented System Shock 2's immediate release on those systems.

Here's a look at the social media post that confirms this:

As you can see, this means System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will still launch for PC on June 26th as planned, but the Xbox version (along with PlayStation and Switch) will now be arriving in the first two weeks of July.

If you haven't played System Shock before, the remaster of the first game comes highly recommended here at Pure Xbox - we gave it an "Excellent" 9/10 review score back in May of last year, and you can read that full review below.
