If you haven't caught the news yet, Helldivers 2 is officially releasing on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S this August, and we know a lot of people are wondering whether it'll support crossplay and cross-progression when it arrives.
Let's start with the good news! Helldivers 2 is officially getting crossplay on Xbox, meaning you'll be able to squad up with PS5 and PC players as well. This was confirmed by Xbox Wire earlier today:
"With cross play on all platforms, get ready to add your strength to our ranks."
But what about cross-progression? Well, as things stand, we don't think Helldivers 2 will support cross-progression on Xbox. It hasn't been mentioned in any marketing materials yet, although it's still very early days right now.
The main reason we don't think it's happening is because there's no cross-progression between the PS5 and PC versions of the game either. Let's hope the developer is working on this in the background, potentially getting it ready for the Xbox launch in August... but we're more willing to bet it's either not happening for a while, or not happening at all.
It'll be a shame if we don't get it, but at least there's crossplay - and until a few hours ago, even the idea of Helldivers 2 launching on Xbox seemed ludicrous! We've written more about it elsewhere, which you can check out down below.
