Next-Gen Xbox Partnership Will 'Push The Boundaries Of What's Possible', Says AMD Exec

You may have seen that Xbox announced plans for its next-gen hardware strategy (including consoles) as part of a YouTube video earlier today, and AMD is joining forces via a multi-year agreement to make all of this possible.

We've already heard what Xbox's Sarah Bond had to say about all this, but AMD executive Jack Huynh has also chimed in on social media about it, describing the partnership as a "bold new chapter for the future of gaming".

Here's a bit of what he had to say on Twitter:

"We’re entering a new multi-year strategic partnership to co-engineer silicon across a portfolio of devices — including our next-generation Xbox consoles — in your living room, in your hands, [and] anywhere you want."

"This isn’t just a hardware evolution — it’s a bold, shared vision to push the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming. Next-generation graphics and visual fidelity, immersive gameplay and player experiences enhanced with the power of AI, compatibility with your existing Xbox game library."

"All of this is grounded in an open, player-first ecosystem — not locked to a single device or store."

Again, we're very intrigued by some of the wording here - this whole thing about not being "locked to a single device or store" could just mean playing games across multiple devices, but it could also indicate the potential for multiple storefronts on the next Xbox console such as Steam. Who knows!

It's also just a very confident statement claiming that Xbox and AMD will "push the boundaries of what's possible in gaming", and we're fascinated to see what they come up with over the next few months, years and maybe decades!
