Forza On PS5 Has 'Easily' Made $100 Million For Xbox, Says Analyst

Earlier this week, we posted about Forza Horizon 5 dominating the PS5 sales charts for the month of May - and now data firm Alinea Analytics has come out and translated that into an impressive revenue number for Team Xbox.

According to the firm, Forza Horizon 5 has now surpassed 2.2 million sales on PlayStation, amounting to revenues that "easily exceed" $100 million for Microsoft. The Playground Games' open-world racer has only been available on the platform for just over a month.

"Forza launched towards the end of April, and Xbox shrewdly dropped the price to $48 (down from $60) at the end of May. This helped Forza sell another 100K copies in the last two days of the month."

"Forza has now surpassed 2.2 million copies sold on PS5, easily exceeding revenues of $100 million.

As we analysed in the first edition of the Alinea Insight newsletter, Forza is Xbox’s best-performing PlayStation port so far and is selling over twice as fast as the others."

Alinea's blog post on all of this then shares some interesting tidbits about FH5 and how it's comparing to other titles on the PlayStation platform. The firm has some data on player crossover between the Xbox title and other racers on PS4/5 (28% of Forza players also play Gran Turismo 7, while 54% play The Crew 2) - and speaking of Ubisoft, Alinea also says that Horizon 5 has now officially outsold the recently-released Assassin's Creed Shadows on PS5. Impressive stuff!

As of yet, Xbox hasn't officially commented on Forza Horizon 5's PS5 sales performance, but it's all looking pretty good - just a few weeks into the game's new lease of life. We're hardly surprised, either; FH5 is a great open-world racer and the PlayStation fanbase has been starved of those for years.
