The Finals has been firmly on our FPS radar ever since we learnt that some of the masterminds behind the Battlefield series are at the helm, and we're in luck, because Xbox players are being treated to a free open beta for the game this week.

As announced during Xbox's Partner Preview event, The Finals' open beta begins October 26th, and it's coming to all platforms - including Xbox Series X and S.

Developer Embark is being rather generous with its Xbox open beta as well. The game will be playable for more than a week in total, with The Finals' beta officially wrapping up on Sunday, November 5th. We'll drop a brief introduction to this free-to-play FPS down below, so you can decide if you think the open beta is worth a try!

"Join THE FINALS, the world-famous, free-to-play, combat-centered game show! Fight alongside your teammates in virtual arenas that you can alter, exploit, and even destroy. Build your own playstyle in this first-person shooter to win escalating tournaments and lasting fame."
