Spooky indie fishing sim DREDGE was a pretty big hit when it arrived on Xbox earlier this year, and shortly after release the dev team committed to a lengthy post-launch update plan too. The second marker on that roadmap is now here, bringing a couple of major new features to the title.

Photo mode is live, with players now able to snap piccys of all of their best catches while out at sea. You'll have to get the game's new photographer on board first though, and they require some foraged equipment before handing over the camera.

More intriguing though is the game's new 'Passive' mode; a feature now live "for those cosy gamers who want to avoid the biggest nasties in DREDGE". Basically, players can now focus purely on laid back fishing rather than fighting to survive out at sea.

Finally, the update introduces new wildlife events and some fresh stuff to catch while out in the wild. If you haven't given the game a go yet, there's a free trial available now for DREDGE on Xbox - we'll drop details on that down below!
