The release of the Xbox Series X (and S) sparked all kinds of news stories back on November 10th, 2020, but one of the stories that we definitely didn't see coming was that the console was emitting large amounts of smoke out of its vent.
This is something that drew a massive amount of attention back then, and the conclusion that everyone came to was that it appeared to have been faked using a vape pen, which even Xbox humorously commented on at the time.
That original tweet has been getting attention again this week, with Xbox deciding to remind us of it:
We don't know about you, but we haven't seen any other instances of an Xbox Series X supposedly emitting smoke over the past few years, but there were absolutely loads of them cropping up during the console's launch week.
There's always a chance that one or two of these could have been legit, but the vast majority were quite obviously faked in the hope of attracting attention. Nevertheless, it was definitely a memorable story to add to the Xbox history books!
