The Witcher 3's next-gen upgrade may not be out in the wild just yet (it arrives real soon), but several outlets have already gone hands on with the new version ahead of its launch later this week. That includes The Xbox Tester, who has been putting the Xbox Series S upgrade through its paces.

Although the Series S version misses out on any form of ray tracing, the performance mode is well and truly present, and it's looking very good so far! You get a smooth 60FPS on Xbox Series S by the looks of things, which is in line with our own performance mode experience on Xbox Series X.

Interestingly, The Xbox Tester also "highly recommends" the quality mode, at least if pure visual fidelity is your preferred way to experience games like The Witcher 3. Ourselves, we'd probably prefer the 60FPS option, especially given the lack of ray tracing features in the quality mode on Xbox Series S.

CDPR's new upgrade is getting a lot of praise across the board so far, despite a few bugs and crashing instances that reviewers have experienced. For everyone else, it's finally almost time to dive back into this incredible world once again!
