The Last Case of Benedict Fox is a stylish 2.5D Metroidvania that's scheduled to hit Xbox Game Pass next spring, and to whet our appetites a little more, developer Plot Twist has revealed some extended gameplay.

This roughly five-minute sequence shows a nice mixture of exploration and combat, with the two styles showing that Benedict Fox knows when to mix things up to keep it fresh.

Descend into a limbo of decaying memories as Benedict Fox, a self-proclaimed detective bound to his demon companion. Use that unholy bond to explore the minds of the recently deceased in search of clues as you uncover the mysteries of a massive, decrepit mansion — the site to a young couple's grisly murder, and the disappearance of their child.

Immerse yourself in a dark, intriguing world full of secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded crimes in an arcane adventure brought to life through a fascinating Burton-esque art style.

We're looking forward to this one, especially as it's coming day one to Xbox Game Pass in spring 2023, and we're not the only ones either. Xbox boss Phil Spencer picked out The Last Case of Benedict Fox as his personal highlight from Xbox's 2022 showcase, which is high praise indeed, given the range of titles on show earlier this month.
