Plot Twist announced their 2.5D Metroidvania adventure, The Last Case of Benedict Fox, at last night's Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase and, following a rather tasty looking gameplay trailer - which you can check out above - we're now fully excited for what this one's gonna bring to the terror table when it hits Xbox Game Pass in Spring 2023.

Telling a twisted tale that sees players dive into a mysterious world full of secret organizations, forbidden rituals and cold-blooded murders whilst engaging in brutal combat against all manner of Lovecraftian terrors, the tight looking action here is backed up by impressive art direction that packs in plenty of jazzy 1920s influences.

It all looks and sounds very exciting, especially for those of us who are fans of diving into the memories of the dead in order to scare the bejeezus out of ourselves. You can check out some more official details on the game's mechanics alongside a few screenshots below:

Descend into a limbo of decaying memories as Benedict Fox, a self-proclaimed detective bound to his demon companion. Use that unholy bond to explore the minds of the recently deceased in search of clues as you uncover the mysteries of a massive, decrepit mansion — the site to a young couple's grisly murder, and the disappearance of their child. Immerse yourself in a dark, intriguing world full of secret organizations, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded crimes in an arcane adventure brought to life through a fascinating Burton-esque art style.
