Developer Spiders Games is a little busy today, huh? After revealing a sequel to GreedFall earlier on, the team has now dropped a new story trailer for Steelrising, and this one is looking pretty impressive.
Set amidst The Revolution in Paris, Steelrising is a next-gen only RPG, and its visuals do look a solid step up from the studio's previous effort: GreedFall. There are some impressive looking environments and set pieces shown here, even if the lip syncing does look like it needs some work. Here's a brief story setup for Steelrising:
Paris, 1789. The city is in the grip of terror. The Revolution has been suppressed with bloodshed by Louis XVI and his merciless mechanical army. It falls to Aegis, an engineering marvel, to take on the king's ranks of automatons and change the course of history.
Hopefully, the team has enough time to iron out the kinks and work on that lip sync, ahead of the game's Xbox Series X|S launch on September 8th. Either that, or it'll end up on the 2022 delay pile, a lot like the rest of the year's planned releases.

I'm really digging the period setting and the overall aesthetic.
Looks very interesting. It’ll no doubt be janky as it’s a Spiders game but I did enjoy Greedfall quite a bit.
Insta buy just for being the first next gen only title! And it looks pretty cool too.
not bad but im not feeling a need to play - they are a certified AA studio but they arent far from AAA either, we'll see how this and Greedfall 2 go i guess
Oh I remember seeing this a few years back and being interested... looking forward to it but will have to see actual gameplay to see how the game/world/combat actually works.
Unlikely to preorder but looking forward to first impressions.
Looks alot like Lies of P. Or the other way around, none the less it looks amazing hope it's a great game.
Love the heavy Gallic aesthetic in this, crossed with a little Dishonored.

@S1ayeR74 By that metric there will be NEVER be any first party Series X games as Microsoft are planning to make them all streamable.
BTW there are several third party next gen only games already including The Medium which never came out for XBO.
Greedfall seemed like my kind of game but it really wanted to be a story experience more than a gameplay experience. If they make combat and character progression deep I might give this one a go.
Interesting, why not put this on gamepass day and date?
Uh, ok. Greedfall was decent but I've played in-depth modern and classic RPGs of similar or higher calibre over these last two decades or so. If they improve on their take of the recipe, great
