Following on from the batch of details we've received about Halo Infinite Season 2 recently, 343 Industries has unveiled an announce trailer for the season, which will officially be called "Lone Wolves", beginning on May 3rd.
The studio has promised "fresh content" for the season "including new maps, modes, themed limited-time events, and an all-new Battle Pass that never expires." The trailer above gives us just a taste of what to expect from "Lone Wolves".
343 actually announced some of the key details about Season 2 a month ago, including that the new modes will be "Last Spartan Standing", free-for-all elimination, "Land Grab" and the return of "King of the Hill", while new maps will include the new Arena map "Catalyst" and the new BTB map "Breaker".
In addition, multiplayer lead Tom French recently spoke to The Washington Post about the new features and content in Season 2, stating that he's "very excited to see what the players think when we actually get to unleash it on them.”
Just a few weeks to go, then, and hopefully Halo Infinite Season 2 lives up to the hype. Fingers crossed!

From the trailer, it does seem like Last Man Standing is one step closer to Battle Royale.
@Grumblevolcano Agreed. Although I think Attrition as a big team battle mode would be a big big thing. I do think they'll eventually reveal a version of the Battle Royale if not a straight up BR which in the Halo Universe could be great but there is a large portion of the player base that really don't want one...for some reason lol.
Enjoyed the campaign and more of that I’m after but in different environments with some better environmental effects, pushing the series x, as it hardly breaks into a sweat currently in campaign.
Going by 343 that will probably be about 3 years away. Was hoping it was going to be a yearly thing.
I love ranked arena, just wish it had a few more (3-4) more maps.
That said i have 160 hours into season 1 and love the game so much. Can’t wait for more season’s to come and see where they take it. That said i also have been playing the the Master Chief collection single player campaigns and they look so good on series X and feel great with the added FPS. I have made Halo once again my one and only Competitive online shooter and have been really happy with it. Don’t miss COD and certainly don’t miss Battlefield.
@Dezzy70 sadly i agree. I want them to at some point use ray Tracing and scale everything up way higher for us Series X owners
I believe they will at some point and the hardware can for sure handle way more. Plus it pushes others to upgrade to a X a little more. Here’s hoping buddy.
@Rural-Bandit
So enjoy the Halo infinite gun play and the hook.
They still say originally was about 60% bigger environmentally and I guess with different environments. That would have been awesome.
I do hope after the recent months of a few of Xbox studios not so good reports managing games, that Phil has put some good coal face and micro management in place and keeping a close in on all the studios and game development.
They have so many studios now and some good talent, I really don’t want it to go to waste with poor end games, when they should be big AAA and have reasonable development time.
@Moto5
Being selfish I always said 343 had to much to do and they should have gone series consoles next generation only and blown us away.
I do believe though with game development it comes down to good management and having targets and strong control on each stage of development.
If my company left the designers to design with no targets or milestones we would never get a new design onto the production testing phase.
It’s probably the same for game development.
Does Big Team Battle work properly now?
It’s the only concern I have with Xbox is big AAA game development. And sorry I still don’t have much faith in that area yet.
Yes we know playground can do an amazing Forza Horizon and the coalition a great gears and turn 10 Forza. 343 I suppose an ok Halo. But after that it’s a bit unknown currently.
I guess time will tell, but I’m hoping they don’t arse it up with all these studios.
A wise man once said "Aw ****. Here we go again." That sums up my feelings can't wait!
@Dezzy70 Agreed, i think they need some oversight to keep the projects coming along and with the original creators vision. I think it will get better soon and lots of really good games will start to show, especially now that Covid isn’t as much of a fear as it was 1-2 years ago. Really looking forward to the summer show and seeing Starfield.
@Rural-Bandit
Poor Starfield so much riding on that game and true next generation only.
The base game doesn't even work. High ping. Failures to find players. User interface not loading properly. Uneven teams. Uneven weapon spawns.
343 can get back at me when their game works at a baseline level.
This is also on the tails of Master Chief Collection's recent issues with the online portion working about just as well as Infinite's. That's is to say, not working at all
@Dezzy70 i think it’s going to be a great game and Todd Howard has brought a lot of it to himself and the studio saying things like this will be on level with movie level sci fi and a universe that is up there with the likes of Star Trek or Star Wars, sorry cant remember the quote word for word, but you get the idea. So i think they know they have something special, xbox needs it and to a lesser extend Bethesda needs it. So i hope it’s great and gets lots of players excited.
@Rural-Bandit
Me too, time we get to November we will need it 😂
@Dezzy70 for sure ! But i know in time Xbox will have some heavy hitters and i still joy Halo multiplayer and Hope RedFall don’t slip to far back, but with its vampire roots i could see it slipping into October. Thats at the moment all i have on my radar until we see and learn new titles and dates. I will say tho nothing on my PS5 interested me. Really the only game i know i will love for them is God of War. If that game wasn’t getting made, i would have waited for a PS5 slim. Cause i hate the design of the PS5 currently. Switch i still play a lot. Maybe more than i should but i just love laying in bed and playing nintendo exclusives before i fall asleep and never get to bed on time and wonder why i am tired in the morning haha
Really looking forward to season 2. Between this teaser and the report yesterday looks like the game is going in the right direction finally.
Roll on May!
@Rural-Bandit
Moving forward for this year 2022 I think Sony have done their lot for the year unless god war 2 releases, who knows.
Nintendo have nothing that big for me now BOTW2 has moved to 2023. Still enjoy couch MK8 though.
Xbox should have Starfield this year and probably something else, it’s hard to tell until June.
So overall maybe not a vintage year for me but we still 8 months to go.
Lone wolves because there's still no co op
@Rural-Bandit Didn't they promise a post launch raytracing patch back in 2020?
@Dezzy70 agreed, not sure if sony has much left. Nintendo pushed back Zelda, which sucks but if they give me Wind Waker and Metroid Prime i will be so happy, and good with them until early 2023 when BOTW 2 hits or whatever they decide to call it.
Little wishful thinking here but how great would BOTW 1 & 2 be on Switch 2 running at 1440P and 60FPS? I mean holy crap i would buy the console for just that and a new Mario Kart.
@Xiovanni They did say it’s coming back then and i hope it still is, i would replay the campaign to see it. I played a few multiplayer ranked matches today and still love it like it’s brand new. It’s hands down my favorite online shooter, I ain’t naïve or ignorant to people’s complains and frustrations with it, i just ignore most of it cause underneath what i do or don’t agree with, I’ve had so much fun with it. Hell i got 160 plus hours into it already. It’s not perfect but it kicks the you know what out of Battlefield and COD this year for me. Maybe thats not sounding like much of a victory, seeing as those landed flat on their faces from the jump. But again i am really having fun with it. I have a new LG oled and Sonos surround sound and it sounds and moves so so good. Graphics well that i understand are par or below par. But thats not all that makes a shooter for me. Unless it’s gears of war i tend to think those look and play great. I’m rambling but to answer your question, yes they did and it’s on their list of promises yet not met.
@Xiovanni had to look it up, but they did say it was planned for post launch , so technically it’s still on pace. But it wasn’t meant to be there at launch even before the delay. So i suppose I’ll give them a slight pass, but overall you were right, i just wanted to look up their wording on it.
@Rural-Bandit
Switch 2, who knows. I would have thought the logical answer for Nintendo’s next console but who knows they could go off on a tangent again with their switch replacement.
It makes logical sense to make it the same hybrid console just more powerful but maybe with some direct motion control like Wii but more advance and not the slightly awkward gyroscope controls the switch has now, which is a backward step to the Wii plus motion controller.
I think that’s it, Switch 2, more power but with advanced wii motion plus tote controls run through a camera system placed on top or below your tv.
The “Wii Switch”.
@Dezzy70 i agree with who knows with nintendo. But I believe it will be a more power version of the same thing with BC to carry over users and their games. Improve the controls and online and thats a winner. Super Nes was a more powerful Nes with better controls, Wii U was a more powerful Wii with different controls, so they have a pattern with this, hopefully switch 2 is just that, mostly the same and better controls with more power. It’s a winning formula, but Nintendo isn’t afraid to get bored and take chances. But I’ve said it before, Switch should be to them what Xbox is to MS or PS is to Sony. This should be the brand going forward with mobile chips getting more and more powerful this keeps them within their smaller power needs and gives them even the chance to upgrade hardware quicker if need be. Keep BC and keeping moving along control and power wise and it’s a instant sell, but as i said when they get bored they like to take risks. I wouldn’t risk Switch and would make it my brand and keep it going. It solves the console and handheld spilt by making one game, my dream switch would be a Oled Lite that could be docked. I enjoy my Lite in bed and on the go way more than my switch. Yes i have 2, cause i am stupid like that haha
@Rural-Bandit
Think you are spot on there and I see the pattern you mentioned. So Switch 2 it should be, I have a Switch OLED now the white one.
Yes the Switch should be the Nintendo brand Hybrid console.
Nintendo have so many great IPs so unused on the Switch, new Metroid, Pikmin and Donkey Kong just to start with. So many missing big hit games in my opinion.
I hope they have some goodness lined up for the second half of this year. Would love a Mario Odyssey 2 or big AAA platform game from them. Or any three new games I mentioned above.
Not sure why they don’t, maybe they need to grow their studios, I think their house teams could easy be twice the size to satisfy existing IP game demand let alone new big IPs.
@Dezzy70 i would love Mario Odyssey 2, but i think the smartest path would be a Switch 2 with more power and better Joy Cons.
I also have the White Oled switch and the Grey Lite. I would like to see Starfox get some love, as it’s been dormant for awhile, Mario baseball wouldn’t hurt my feelings, tho i know those are more than a few million sellers compared to their big IP’s. They do need big studios to help get games out faster and that why not having two sections for console and handheld is perfect. Make one Mario or one Zelda and it covers both bases for them. Rumor has it a new Donkey Kong is deep into development. Sure hope so. Rumor has it Metroid Prime has been finished and so has Wind Waker and they are just holding onto them. So i think we could see some news regarding those in the upcoming months. As for Xbox call me stupid and maybe i am buddy, but i still think they are going to have some bangers this Gen, starting with Starfield. If i am wrong you will see me say it. I have no issues saying i was wrong. But i really believe they have a chance to get some market share back and obviously they aren’t done buying talent or timed deals for more games. After the A/B deal is done i think we will see more with that. As always i really enjoy our conversations 😀
@Rural-Bandit
I really do hope Starfield is that big big banger, because then it will be amazing to play in every way and that’s really what it is all about. Bethesda are starting to big the game up, so it best be that dam good else Bethesda and Xbox will look daft.
Lot riding on this game, fingers crossed 🤞
@Dezzy70 yeah it’s been in development for a long time. It was said it’s done but they wanted this year to just iron out bugs and stability issues. So thats why they keep showing 11/11/22 cause it’s already done is what has been said. So if they do release this in really stable condition, fans are going to be so happy and Sony fanboy’s will be so upset they have nothing to make fun of.
