Banjo Kazooie

Rare might have been purchased by Microsoft long ago, but somehow its partnerships with Nintendo continue.

In the latest deal, it seems Microsoft has given Nintendo the green light to release the original Banjo-Kazooie game on its newly announced Switch Online N64 "Expansion Pack" service.

This news was revealed during Nintendo's Direct broadcast earlier today. Of course, as noted by Rare - Xbox gamers can play the title via Game Pass and Rare Replay:

@RareLtd: You saw it right – our '90s classic Banjo-Kazooie is heading to Nintendo Switch! It’s a pleasure to be ushering the bear and bird onto Nintendo's latest console, offering another modern way (alongside @XboxGamePass and Rare Replay) to savour its many collectibles and googly eyes.

While many Nintendo fans are hopeful more classic Rare games will be released on the Switch Online service, this may simply be a case of the game complimenting the addition of Banjo-Kazooie as a DLC fighter in Smash Bros. Ultimate.
