There's already a lot of Star Wars games in development, but it seems like another one may be in a galaxy, far, far away, as it's claimed Quantic Dream - the team behind the original Xbox title Fahrenheit - is working on another game in the franchise.
As reported by VGC, the original claim comes from French YouTuber Gautoz, who says the developer is now collaborating with Disney, having finished its three-contract with Sony (which included Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human).
Gautoz says the team has "finished their contract with Sony and will be signing with Disney", adding "it looks like they will be working on a Star Wars game".
While one rumour isn't usually enough to go on, Tom Henderson, a reliable Call of Duty and Battlefield leaker, has also seemingly corroborated the report. Henderson uploaded a Detroit: Become Human and Star Wars crossover image, adding that he's heard the same as Gautoz, along with liking comments concerning Quantic Dream working on a Star Wars game.
Star Wars reunited under the Lucasfilm Games banner at the beginning of the year, with the brand confirming it's "looking to work with best-in-class teams that can make great games".
With Quantic Dream, if the speculation is true, we imagine it would be a choose-your-own-adventure style game, similar to the developer's previous works. It actually sounds like a pretty cool concept for the Star Wars universe and we'd be excited to see the outcome if the rumours come to fruition.

I liked Beyond: Two Souls and thought Detroit: Become Human was good (very pretty game but the story seemed more forced at times), so be interesting to see what they can do - Star Wars has some settings that might fit this style of game well.
Hopefully it'll be multiplat and not exclusive (timed or otherwise) - no guarantees of that given recent news.
It's starting to feel like because Xbox nabbed Bethesda, Sony is nabbing what they can to get some of that stage light on them. Only, as usual, Sony aims for the legs while Xbox is scoping for headshots. MS are clearly more aggressive this generation and I don't blame them. If Sony fans had it their way there would be no competition and when there's no competition and no choice, a lot of people lose out.
@Hellosmoothskin dont get why your bringing sony into this again? Quantic dream aren't owned by sony and clearly says in the article, they aren't making exclusives for playstation and this star wars game will be on xbox aswell
Quantic dreams games have been been pretty excellent so far and for me they create some very impressive visuals especially the facials.
I miss their kind of games with choices, similar to the telltale games but better and will look forward to playing this if the rumour is true
@uptownsoul yeah tbh after what happened to xbox last gen I do see a lot of salty xbox "elitists" gunning for Sony this gen and have nothing whatsoever to say positive about them. Its exactly the same with the timed exclusives scenario, it ok to buy a massive third party developer to keep some of the best third party games off playstation for ever but playstation is bad for having timed exclusives which will still come to xbox.
This is very interesting. I'd be up for seeing their take on starwars. Its bound to have a decent cast. I just hope the writings up to scratch. One thing's for sure thought, it will be a pretty game.

Think the Sony comments are given how close they are to Quantic Dream and Disney (it seems).
There's no guarantee yet this will be on Xbox, particularly at launch - hence why Sony are mentioned as this being a timed or full exclusive is very possible and very much in their playbook at the moment.
Yes completely off topic comments aren't really helping, but if anyone is wondering why Sony aren't well-liked over here just think about this - if Microsoft hadn't gone big with Game Pass, Bethesda and better management / decent new consoles, this generation would likely have been even more of a walkover than the last.
Microsoft opening up the wallet to make things a bit more equal is fair enough - you can talk new IPs all you want but they won't bring new players in by themselves, established ones are needed and the Xbox ones generally date back to the 360 thanks to bad management last gen.
Sony needs competition else we get 70 quid games with MTX in them (GT7), and given the major exclusives they have now and the ones they're paying third parties for (timed or not, given 2 years on Forspoken renders it old hat by the time Xbox gets it - if they even bother) they're in no danger of losing this generation but a more equal share brings out the best in both sides

Reading these comments, I've something I want to express.
Being a fanboy in the early 80's when it was Commodore V Sinclair was embarrassing. In these more enlightened times (stop laughing at the back) I'd hope we would have grown out of it.

On PushSquare you get Sony fans who will often agree on the whole, with disagreement and arguments on divisive topics - but not really any Xbox fans who go there deliberately to say something provocative, knowing they'll get a rise.
That definitely happens on this site, and while I think those who want actual debate / have skin in the game (I go to PushSquare as I have a PS4 for example) should be welcomed, there's often some trolling going on.
I get the childish remarks from some may be the equivalent of "don't feed the trolls" (and I likely fall into the trap often by trying to argue) but it doesn't really help the image of this site and Xbox gamers in general - we should probably just ignore trolls or constructively discuss where we can.
Anyway guess let's try to get this back on course - I kinda hope it won't be Mandalorian based unless it explains the story as I keep bouncing off the series as it seems to drag. And on a similar note did anyone else bounce off Heavy Rain after playing Two Souls? I know it was an earlier game but it felt light years behind

quantic dreams is a very talented company, maybe the only company that can create interesting interactice adventures and the only studio i envied from Sony.
I was blown away when i played Fahrenheit on pc , it was way ahead of its time.
i have tried similar games from tell tales or Annapurna but they were nowhere near in quality, graphics etc
It would be really interesting to see their vision on star wars. will it be more action based or similar to their usual style.

Ya know with the 'influx' (so to say) of new star wars games announcements I kinda get why it was exclusive to EA for a while. I know variety is good and people will be glad to see more SW games made by different devs because it would fit more peoples preferences. But for someone that doesn't really like SW but does like the games I'm kinda feeling overwhelmed.

Read the comments on the Deathloop review - there are many fanboys, some who even quote PureXbox saying that it's a game of the year contender and rubbishing the site and those on it because we're waiting for it to come to Game Pass (well duh we have Xboxes so won't have it till then anyway).
The deliberate provoking on this site is much worse and yes probably causes a more fanboy mentality - but trust me the percentage of negative comments on here about Xbox way outdoes that for Sony on PushSquare.
As for elitists who won't touch another console, I have a PS4 but yes I've gone Xbox first this generation as Sony are at the worst they've been since PS3 - price rises, nickel and diming, third party exclusivity bought all over the place and pure lies ("we believe in generations").
I may get a PS5 when the management changes or enough games I want to play are on it - but I shouldn't have to explain my Sony position to be able to comment on them, particularly on an Xbox site given many of their decisions have hurt Xbox gamers

Seems odd that so many developers hadn't been given or took the opportunity to make games with an IP as big as Marvels.
As for the first part, I'm quite sure after the bf2 debacle just before the release of episode 9 of the last trilogy disney was mad at EA and decided to revoke their exclusive right to make star wars games.
It would at least make sense, somewhat.

@UltimateOtaku91 Firstly, given this site is the smallest as it was only recently reactivated it's going to seem like a large percentage - a) those more to Xbox are more likely to have sought out this Xbox-specific site and b) given the large amount of PushSquare users who post / troll here it's going to seem quite fractious.
Secondly, Bethesda's first Xbox exclusive this generation is over a year away still.
Sony have paid for exclusivity on Deathloop, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16 - all of which are out or likely to be out before Starfield, and which Xbox users will get much later or not at all - and that's just the big games.
The stupid Spider Man DLC in Avengers and charging for cross play, plus the lie about "we believe in generations" so Xbox seemed out of touch (so persuading users to PS5) have all either impacted Xbox players or fed the stupid console wars (which Sony pretends to dislike but actively stokes the pile on of Xbox fans online by their large fanboy base).
Finally, your comments - third parties you may comment on normally, but every single Microsoft one you stick the knife in or niggle at something (and yes you're right I'll bring up a few now):
That's just from a quick look - there's many dismissing Xbox as all multiplayer games (there's lots of single player coming plus loads on Game Pass) and dismissing Xbox exclusives for only having Halo this year (as you don't like driving or flying) then listing all the PS5 exclusives including the Bethesda ones.
Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but if it's going to so often be negative about Xbox it's generally going to be unpopular given the focus of this site.
It might not be deliberate but the often negative vibe while always defending Sony is generally not going to go down well on an Xbox site

There are other more Sony-leaning posters too, just you generally post more so are more visible - others are also more obviously here to troll so easier to just ignore and report.
I'm more than happy to debate the merits of the different brands approach, and yes on third party stuff I've no issue - the general disdain for Microsoft and the support for Sony does come through in comments on many first party articles though.
That wouldn't be an issue on a multiplat site but given it's an Xbox site it sometimes strays close to being controversial for the sake of argument, which yes isn't encouraged by the community rules - in the same way I wouldn't go on PushSquare and post about Game Pass as I know it's a controversial over there.
Who knows, as the big games start to hit Xbox maybe your feelings will change and you'll feel less need to criticise them anyway
Jeez folks, how boring is this thread? If people want to talk about Xbox and PlayStation comparisons in a constructive manner, then fine.
