Call of Duty: Vanguard is still six weeks away from release on November 5th, but its early access beta period is finally now available on Xbox, starting with a pre-order beta for the first couple of days, and then an open beta.
If you've pre-ordered the game (or acquired a code), you can try it out right now until Monday, September 20 at 10 AM PT, while everyone else will be able to jump in on Saturday, September 18 until the same date - Monday, September 20.
"Early Access is September 16th - 17th on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Open Beta access is available for all Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players from September 18th - 20th. Xbox Live Gold Subscription not required for this period only."
In the beta, you'll be able to "get a hands-on experience with the signature core Multiplayer combat coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard - dive into an advanced Gunsmith, brand-new Caliber system and new Champion Hill."
Keep in mind there are separate versions for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as well. If you want to pre-load the open beta before this weekend, you should be able to use the Xbox mobile app to 'Download to Console' remotely. Just search for the phrase "Vanguard Beta" on the app, and you'll find the two different versions under 'Games'.

"Call of Duty: Vanguard will feature a massive launch day Multiplayer offering, featuring a wide variety of diverse environments with 20 maps including 16 built for core gameplay. The Beta is a small taste of what’s to come with Call of Duty: Vanguard when it launches on November 5th."

I have only touched two total COD games for a grand total of maybe six hours since CoD 2… on the 360.
@xMightyMatt14x
Yeah, I loved everything up to blops2.
Blops3 was passable fun, but like a totally different game.
Couldn't get into Advanced Warfare at all.
Ignored Ghosts.
Infinite War came with my PS4 bundle and was dreadful.
WW2 was kind of ok-ish.
Blops4... Nah.
MW 2019... Too sweaty.
Cold War... I was put off by the beta.
However, I re-bought blops1 on sale the other week... and it's still kinda fun. Great maps and gameplay (same with MW1+2 which both still hold up).
I would rather have a remastered Blops 1+2 package than one of the newer style CoD games.
Maybe it's just my (old) age and I can't keep up with what the kids like!
played both the alpha an beta on my ps5. the alpha...kinda sucked an the beta is just ridden with latency issues. Its basically WW2 MW.
quite literally, if MW 2019 had a WW2 reskin. thats vanguard.
its still just another cod i'll hard pass on.
@antstephenson CoD3, 360 launch game, then mw 1&2, then it was mw(2019). Those were the games I bought, mainly for the single player campaigns. If I wanted multiplayer fun, the boys and I would bf:bc2 all night long.
It’s crap. Don’t bother
Gonna install just to verify they ruined EVERYTHING about my favorite mode, Gunfight (got rid of fixed spawn points, single life, and everyone having the exact same weapons), and then skip the full release, lol.
@PhhhCough
I kinda missed out on the whole Battlefield thing until I tried BF1 on the PS4 (which I couldn't really get to grips with... Same when I tried BF5 on XSX gamepass).
Thought I might try BF2042, but there seem to be worrying signs around that game (a poor test plus delays).
Will prob be sticking to Apex and Splitgate for my shooter needs for a while.
I may play it this weekend
