Earlier this week The Coalition teased its upcoming tech demonstration of Unreal Engine 5 running on Xbox Series X. It was pretty beautiful, but now another screenshot reveals even more of the graphics engine's power.
As shared by The Coalition on Twitter, this second image is another look at Alpha Point, the name for the studio's upcoming tech demo at GDC. While it's not directly related to any projects the team is working on (that we know of), it does give an insight into the visual potential of their future games. We must say, it's looking pretty swanky.
Alpha Point will be aired at GDC on July 20, but as we mentioned earlier this week, it's locked behind a pretty hefty paywall for attendees. We imagine it won't be too long before the footage comes into the public domain, though.
Either way, it's going to be interesting to see the reactions to it. The Coalition announced earlier this year it would be moving to Unreal Engine 5 for future projects, and it's looking to be a pretty substantial upgrade. We already know the team is working on the future of the Gears franchise, so it's going to be intriguing finally seeing it in action.
Excited to see The Coalition move over to Unreal Engine 5? Let us know in the comments below.

When I get a AAA game doing all this etc etc then I will go yeah. But nice all the same I guess.
Im really looking forward to Gears 6. Especially since The Coalition forced cross platform in multiplayer. I dont stand a chance against pc players so I barely play anymore. Lol.
It'll be interesting to compare to the ps5 tech demo, as that used the SSD to show of a high-speed flying sequence at the end, which the Xbox SSD couldn't (?) keep up with...
I like these tech demos though, I remember valve's source engine, and ue3 ones years ago
I remember some good tech demos back in the day - the best ones almost always felt like short films in addition to just showing off the maximum amount of visual power things could pump out (in very, VERY idealized situations). Used to love watching stuff from Nvidia, or the Ruby ATI demos, and I even remember some of the original Xbox stuff like Raven/It takes two to tango, but I gotta admit I never really cared for Epic's demos. I even didn't care much for their UE5 one; we've seen gorgeous canyons and rocky environments before, in everything from modern Tomb Raider games to Horizon to upcoming games like Forspoken, so it wasn't that interesting to actually LOOK at.
I did really like that "Infiltrator" demo for UE4 though. THAT one was pretty cool.
Hopefully, Coalition has a good tech demo up their sleeve. I mean, why else would they even bother teasing out screenshots? Just wait until GDC starts if it's just going to be a normal, boring tech demo. If you're hyping it up at all, it better be entertaining too.
