Following on from our report last week that it seemed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night may be getting a sequel, 505 Games and ArtPlay have both confirmed the sequel is real.
Unfortunately, it sounds like we may be waiting a while as the game is only in the very early stages of planning as resources are focused on completing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night's upcoming content. The metroidvania has continued to receive new content since its launch back in 2019, with new difficulty modes and areas to visit. The sequel will have a lot to live up to.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night joins 505 Games' other title, Ghostrunner, which will also be getting a sequel. Again, work on the project is in the early stages, but fans can expect the series to continue for both franchises. Fantastic to see this smaller titles continue their legacy with new instalments. If you haven't checked out either, be sure to - especially Ghostrunner, which is getting a next-gen upgrade later this year.
Will you be checking out the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night sequel? Let us know in the comments below.

The original was great, though I must admit I personally prefer the two Curse of the Moon titles.
Curse of the Moon > Bloodstained
Still, this is welcome news.
Can't wait. Absolutely loved Bloodstained and it is the only good castlevania we've been given in a long time
Perfect timing! I'm just now starting Bloodstained RotN, and so far, I think it's better than Castlevania SotN, which is in my Top 10 games of all time
@MasterkillerX Heresy! 🤨
Q) Will you be checking out the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night sequel?
A) Absolutely; loved the first game and I look forward to hearing more of it's sequel. This early announcement is a bit strange though as you would think they'd wait until they had at least something to tease about it.
