Xbox fan and Twitter user NoisePatrick drummed up a lot of attention earlier this week on social media with his concept for an improved Xbox achievements layout, which even led to a member of the Xbox team acknowledging it.
NoisePatrick's design features a separate category for rare achievements, along with a PlayStation style 'Platinum Trophy' reward for when you've completed every single achievement in a game, as you can see in the image above.
Popular Xbox community member Klobrille showed his support for "some fresh & additional ideas" in response to the tweet, and Xbox director of program management Jason Ronald even got in on the action when questioned about it:
Needless to say, this concept has received a lot of positive comments, and it seems Xbox fans in general definitely would like to see some improvements made to the Achievements system. Let's see if anything comes of this...

Yes, please. This looks fantastic.
I approve. It's one things that Sony got right in their whole trophy system. A score nowadays doesn't mean much. When you played so many games and can't recall how many you 100% on achievement without having to do a search for them.
The only thing that doesn't work here is the rare achievement score. These are modular and go with how many people playing the game unlocked it. In other words, rare one day and common the next.
I've always wanted Xbox Achievements to have something equivalent of the Platinum Trophy on PlayStation.
Fully in support of what is basically the PlayStation trophy system. Gamerscore feels outdated by comparison and very obviously reflective of the time period that achievement system was created
@TheFrenchiestFry he still has gamerscore in there and i do like keeping it along with these changes. I like numbers.
I prefer Gamerscore over bronze, silver and gold trophies, especially when a game only has like a dozen trophies, but the platinum is just a great idea.
Hopefully a 100% completed tracker is in the works.
I wish achievements could be sorted by their rarity I wanna know what my rarest achievement is.
How would these "platinum" trophies even work? If I get 1000 gamerscore and get one, and then the game adds more achievements... will I still get to keep it or will I lose it until I complete the new cheevos as well?
This is MUCH better than the crowded mess the last mock up was. Definitely some good ideas that need refinement.
Love that you can readily see your play time for each game. Ever since the 3ds activity log I have always been curious about my playtime in each game
More stats are almost always better than less, so long as you can sort them and keep them tidy.
A platinum equivalent would be a welcome improvement.
I like playing games organically / not arbitrarily chasing chievos. I prefer Nintendo's approach to the concept.
