Dungeon & Dragons fans will be happy to see the first look at Dark Alliance gameplay, a co-operative adventure inspired by the franchise, coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on June 22.
The third-person action RPG sets out to allow you and a group of friends to take on over 30 different monsters from the series, all while using unique combat abilities and methods. An Xbox Wire post has delved deeper into what some of those include, but a brief overview showcases numerous move sets, such as slamming down on foes, or skewering them with a harpoon.
To give fans a real taste, a new trailer has dropped showcasing the game in action for the first time. It looks very fast paced and as though teamwork is going to be a big part of its style.
"The world of Dungeons & Dragons comes to life in an explosive action RPG filled with real-time combat and dynamic co-op. Choose your hero and join up to three other friends to battle legendary monsters, earn powerful gear, and unlock new abilities to take on even bigger challenges."
No doubt we'll get a more in-depth look in the run up to launch, but it seems like a satisfying stop gap until the eagerly anticipated Warhammer 40K: Darktide hits Xbox Series X|S later this year.

This looks like Vindictus
I played Tuque's last game, Livelock, and it was fine. When this got announced, I was super uninterested in another isometric, bird's eye hack-and-slash romp. I know the tone of the trailers for this so far have been pretty different from a straight-laced D&D game, but y'know? It's got attitude. It's got personality. It's taking a swing here, and there's plenty of straight-laced D&D games out there, so I appreciate the fact that Tuque is trying to make their second game a lot more memorable than their first one.
I think the new properly third person camera & action looks way better than the old PS2/Xbox1 isometric Baldur's Gates by Snowblind too. It just looks way more intense and exciting now. Seriously, very glad that they're taking some chances here, since Livelock didn't light the world on fire and, let's face it, most people don't even know that twin-stick robot apocalypse-themed schmup even came out back in 2016. Hope this is a pretty solid game in the end. It looks like it could be a fun time.
