Original story (Tue 17th Nov, 2020 19:00 GMT): Donโ€™t you dare be sour! Clap for your world famous, multi-time WWE champs, and feel the power!

Sorry, force of habit.

Yes, in a very bizarre crossover, Gears 5 is adding all three members of playful WWE stable The New Day to its character roster, which consists of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E. Few details have been revealed at the time of writing, but they're scheduled to arrive in the game "this holiday" according to Xbox exec Aaron Greenberg.

The inclusion of The New Day arrives in conjunction with today's Operation 5: Hollow Storm update, which introduces new maps, characters and more in the game's "largest post-launch update ever".

This isn't the first time WWE stars have made an appearance in Gears 5 either - Hollywood star and former wrestler Batista is also present in the game, and can even be swapped out for Marcus Fenix in its campaign.
