Among the many games that are heading to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on launch day, November 10th is Bright Memory 1.0, described as a "lightning-fast fusion of the FPS and action genres."
The game was actually released on Steam for PC last year, created by the one-man development studio FYQD using Unreal Engine, and currently holding a "Very Positive" rating on the platform.
Interested yet? You might be even more interested to know that you can now pre-order the game for just £6.69 / $7.99 on the Microsoft Store, which certainly seems reasonable for a next-gen launch title!
So, what's with the low price? Ultimately, Bright Memory 1.0 is more like a demo than a full game, only taking around an hour to complete, and just over two hours for completionists (according to How Long to Beat).
A more expanded version called Bright Memory: Infinite is in the works for Xbox Series X/S, but that game was recently pushed back to 2021, so Bright Memory 1.0 is being released to tide fans over in the meantime.
Don't expect too much from this one in terms of length, then. But if you're looking for a cheap Xbox Series launch title and a well-regarded first-person shooter to enjoy on launch day, this might be something to consider.
Bright Memory is a lightning-fast fusion of the FPS and action genres, created by one-man development studio FYQD using Unreal Engine. Combine a wide variety of skills and abilities to unleash dazzling combo attacks. SRO (Supernatural Science Research Organization) agent Shelia's adventure is about to begin.

1-2 hours long? They should just put this on Game Pass.
Not paying for a demo
Now, the question I have is how pre-ordering this would affect the purchasing of the final product. Would you get a discount?
I am definitely going to be grabbing this either way. The combat looked incredibly unique. 10 more days!!!
A game made of pirated assets,
What a shame
2 hours for 8 bucks??! Seems strange indeed.
@KelticDevil Unfortunately I don't think this game is even worth on game pass. They should've made it an free game to show how capable the series x/s can be.
”Expanded version is in the works for series X”
What?! Not for series S?!? 😒
@Fulkaffe Just a typo. Apologies!
@RukaChan
I disagree & think it would be worth it on Game Pass, if you are already paying for GP. $8 for 1-2 hours of game is ridiculous, though. This reminds me of the paid MGS demo from many years ago.
Hopefully, the main game turns out to be really good. It looked fantastic in the little bit we saw in May.
@KelticDevil Correct, But for an 1 hour for demo for first playthrough unless you wanna get all the achievements and extra stuff thats makes it 2 hours the game should be free as an bonus for getting the series x/s and with bright memory infinite charge it with an price.
The game is indeed good so far. I brought the game on steam for $2 during their summer sale and I played the game on my pc with my xbox controller and I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to trying out bright memory infinite.
@RukaChan
Sounds good. Thx for the tips on it’s quality. 👍🏻
"Among the many games that are heading to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on launch day" - lol
Game looks really good, I think i'll wait for the full version to come out..
@Xerges I thought it was licensed assets from the UE4 Marketplace.
The first luigis mansion on gamecube whas 3hours and people paid 60€ for it.
I have to say, this game surely looks refreshing. For 8 bucks i give it a go.
@Vincent294 no, he even admitted he used ripped content from released games without permission, like from Crysis for instance.
This shouldn't be allowed to be in the store, and he should be ban from publish games in these stores
@Carck yeah, exactly, why do you care that somebody steal in someone else house as long as he sells you cool things cheap,
As long as he doesn't steal in your home is fine, nice, very nice
@Deadcow
😂 Well played.
@Xerges Good to know. It's been rectified since but that is a big misstep. It's on the Wikipedia article.
@Carck Profiting off someone else's work isn't exactly nice. The developer has since removed the copied assets, and what's left is their work or licensed, but what they did was bad. The game is still impressive and I believe in second chances but that is a bad thing.
Paid for it with some left over MS Brazil store credit, not going to cry over a few quid. Looking forward to see what it plays like.
Anyone know if it will have keyboard and mouse support?
@Medic_Alert I only base the length of games on speedruns. Those Elder Scrolls games are very short.
Q) Planning on pre-ordering this, or has the short length put you off?
A) Whilst whether I can get an Xbox Series X is a bit up in the air what with the UK going back into lockdown, if I can, I hope to get this game. I'm not usually an FPS fan but Bright Memory Infinite has me curious and excited, with this game serving as a nice teaser for it.
I don't mind the short length at all. I rarely complete games as it is, so having a game I can actually tick off in getting to the end will be quite a nice change of pace.
