Xbox Insiders have begun receiving a new HDR Calibration App on Xbox One, which seemingly allows you to calibrate your games for HDR in a much "quicker and easier" fashion.
It appears as though only a few Xbox Insiders have access to this feature at the moment, but we're assuming it'll be rolled out to the public eventually. Here's a look at it in action:
We haven't had a chance to try it out for ourselves yet, but hopefully this should make calibrating for HDR a much more intuitive process. According to a user on Reddit, it's a definite improvement:
"The new HDR Game Calibration app is great. The previous way of adjusting your tv/monitor picture and colour settings constantly never worked for me. The screen would always end up too dark.
The new new app makes it quicker and easier to calibrate your display for HDR games. For me the process took about a minute but still made my display too dark. A simple switch of my TV's picture mode from HDR Game to HDR Dynamic did the trick. Now my games look even better with proper HDR calibration."

I use in-game calibration settings but if they can make it easier and the global settings work I'll be very happy.
I'm glad this is finally making an appearance. My HDR probably has been off for years now. Probably time to fix it
@Grot Blinds and curtains, it's the only way 😁.
@Grot the base PS4 has HDR for games.
