The Halo team has dropped a Halo Infinite teaser video with the message, "SIGNAL DETECTED. TAG DESIGNATION: FOE." The video features a warning from the Banished - a splinter faction of The Covenant. Watch the full thing above!
Here's a transcript of the message heard in the video:
“The hour approaches. Forces occupy the ring. Within hours, it will be under our control. Humanity will burn. The brazen defiance will be all but a memory. No more Prophets. No more lies. We stand together, brothers to the end. We are his will, we are his legacy, we are The Banished.”
The Banished most recently appeared in 2017's Halo Wars 2, but has never featured in the main Halo series. We're assuming we'll hear a lot more about what role they'll play in Halo Infinite at next month's Inside Xbox event.
What do you make of the new teaser? Hype levels rising? Let us know in the comments below.

I am so excited for this game!
I think this game is shaping up to be something pretty special. Just what Halo needs to get back on track.
I said that the Banished made much better bad guys than whatever Halo 4 and 5 were trying to do. So this and the old artstyle is a great step in the right direction.
We just need 343i to say that Halo 4 and 5 never happened and that the gameplay is going to be derived from Halo 2 & 3 rather than the later games and you'll actually get me to buy at launch. Which is something I've had no interest in doing for a Halo game since Halo 4.
@Richnj
I thought Halo 4 had a great campaign. Halo 5, however..... 🤦♂️
But in saying that.....the weakest point of Halo 4 was the enemies. The main villain was also a bit weak. Halo Wars 2 had a great & intimidating villain, so hopefully, they keep that going in Infinite.
@KelticDevil Yeah, the Forerunner parts of Halo 4 were... Annoying, I'll say. And the MP was poor too. The best part was Chief and Cortanna, and Halo 5 undone that.
If we went back to Halo 3, go back and tell that Chief and Cortanna story again, but with a stronger story framing it, and a better MP, we can have our cake and eat it too.
@Richnj
I do agree that the Forerunners we repetitive & boring enemies. The relationship between Master Chief & Cortana was amazing in Halo 4. Then, like you said, Halo 5 screwed it all up.
343 just needs to put it all together to make the complete Halo game. Halo 4 had a great campaign & Halo 5 had great multiplayer. They just need to combine them.
And if they do, watch out. Sony’s exclusives don’t even have multiplayer most of the time, so if 343 can nail Infinite, then Halo will be amazing again.
This is so incredibly exciting! Roll on, July!
@KelticDevil Multiplayer is exactly why we've always preferred xbox over PS. Playing Halo both through the campaign and multiplayer has lead to some of our most fun gaming sessions, and the Bungie Halos are the one of series of games I use to introduce newer players to gaming, FPS and co-op. And you look at Halo, Gears, Crackdown, Fable, State of Decay, etc, MS have the strength of the MP first party games, they just released poor versions on them this gen.
MS are actually putting themselves in to a great position for next gen. If Sony do mess up the pricing and launch of the PS5 (which is looking likely), then Halo Infinite will play a big role in how appealing the XSX is over the PS5. It needs to feed in to that nostalgia that all those 360 gamers remember from that gen, and be a genuinely fun experience, that gives players a sense of hope, essentially the anti-TLOU2, and I could see Halo and xbox maybe getting a sort of rebirth.
@Richnj
I completely agree.
@KelticDevil yeah I really liked halo 4. Halo 5 was terrible and I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
Hopefully this will not be like halo 5
I would like to see the Spirit of Fire and its crew in Halo Infinite. Likewise, I wonder if the unannounced Halo game rumored to be in production wouldn't be a Halo Wars tie-in with Halo Infinite.
Halo just please be great again.
I want that feeling from the original Xbox
When I first stepped onto Halo and everyone watching was like, wow this game is amazing.
So excited to see Halo return to greatness
I still need to play Halo 4 and 5!

Amazing 😍
@LocalPenguin
Amazing, indeed. Halo is starting to feel like Halo once again, and it couldn't have happened at a better time.
