The official Xbox YouTube channel has unveiled a new trailer for upcoming survival adventure game Windbound, and it looks intriguing to say the least. We're getting some serious Breath of the Wild vibes from this one, perhaps with a hint of Sea of Thieves thrown in?
You can make your own decision via the full video above, and we've also included some vibrant-looking screenshots for the game below. Windbound is coming to Xbox One on August 28th, 2020.
"Shipwrecked alone on an uncharted island, explore, adapt and navigate the land and perilous seas to stay alive. As Kara, you are a warrior, caught at sea in a fierce storm, adrift from your tribe. Thrown from your boat, at the mercy of the turbulent waters, you are tossed on to the shores of the Forbidden Islands, a mysterious paradise."

Breath of the Wild? Don't you mean the Wind Waker? Looks interesting regardless, so will keep this on the radar!
Actually they ripped off Breath of the Wild (art style and gameplay mechanics, including the parasail, hunting, and building fires), Wind Waker (sea travel to various islands), AND Link's Awakening (a shipwrecked hero waking up on a deserted island). Even the intro of the trailer is pretty much a 1-to-1 copy/paste of Link's Awakening's. If this game was any more plagiaristic I'd expect a C&D order to come in from Nintendo. Sometimes "inspired by" is just a lazy excuse for "ripped off".

It's even got the hand-glider.
There's definitely more that just "a hint of Sea of Thieves" in there, that's for certain.

I find the art style to resemble RiME more than it does BotW. 😐
