Tech YouTuber Austin Evans, who recently received an in-depth look at the Xbox Series X, posted a new photo of the system's processor on Twitter yesterday, indicating that the chip was "made in Malaysia", in addition to being diffused in Taiwan. And very quickly, the news spread.
Malaysian website The Star noted that as a result, "Made in Malaysia" was one of the top trending topics in the country on Twitter. Here's a look at the tweet in question:
Of course, the news that the Xbox Series X chip is being assembled in Malaysia isn't that surprising. The processor inside the Xbox One X also features the same "Made in Malaysia" and "Diffused in Taiwan" messages. But the irony in this, as some Twitter users have pointed out, is that you can't officially buy an Xbox One in the country at present.
Instead, Malaysian Xbox fans are typically forced to purchase their consoles from the likes of the U.S. and Singapore, and the country isn't classed as an official Xbox Live supported nation either. As a result, many of the "made in Malaysia" tweets from the past 24 hours are centred around this topic.

Xbox won't become a global brand until it goes global.
