Xbox Dev Studios Facing "Unique Challenges And Constraints", Says Microsoft

Head of Microsoft Studios Matt Booty has released a statement on the impact of coronavirus on its first-party Xbox studios, commenting that "each studio is facing unique challenges and constraints", and that the company is supporting its studios "to make the right decisions for their teams and their individual games."

The statement was provided to GameSpot yesterday, in which Booty indicated the company was "committed to delivering the highest quality Xbox Game Studios games". Here's what he had to say:

"We know that gaming connects people during times of social distancing, and we are committed to delivering the highest quality Xbox Game Studios games for our global community of players. At the same time, the health and safety of our XGS development teams is our top priority. Each studio is facing unique challenges and constraints depending on its particular location, and many of our external development partners around the world are similarly affected. We are supporting our studio leaders to make the right decisions for their teams and their individual games during this challenging time.”

We've already heard recently from multiple studios about the challenges of working remotely, and that last bit in the statement certainly seems to suggest potential delays could be on the way (as expected). Ultimately, we just hope everyone involved with Xbox Game Studios is keeping safe and well.

Do you think the likes of Halo Infinite will be delayed? Give us your predictions in the comments.
