It Looks Like E3 2020 Is About To Be Cancelled

Update (Wed 11th Mar, 2020 15:49 GMT): It's true! E3 2020 has been officially cancelled. A statement released by the ESA (thanks GameSpot) confirmed this:

"After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry--our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners--we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles."

Original Article (Wed 11th Mar, 2020 10:39 GMT): The news we've all somewhat been expecting has arrived, as E3 2020 is apparently about to be cancelled amid Coronavirus fears. We're hearing these reports from sources all over the internet, including the following comments from Author and Video Game Biz Journo Mike Futter:

Additionally, Bloomberg is indicating the official announcement will take place today at 9:30 AM Los Angeles time (16:30 UK) by the Entertainment Software Association. The report also suggests the ESA will be "“exploring options for an online E3 event this summer" instead.

It seems inevitable that Microsoft and Xbox were planning to unleash a major press conference at E3 2020 centred around the upcoming Xbox Series X. What they'll do now is anyone's guess, with the Coronavirus continuing to cause havoc for both the games industry and the world at large.

Would you be sad to see E3 cancelled? Where does Microsoft go from here? Tell us how you would approach the situation from an Xbox perspective in the comments below.
