The developer behind games such as The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 has donated $950,000 to Poland's biggest charity organisation - Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy - in the fight against coronavirus. CD Projekt Red announced this via its Facebook page (thanks IGN), and detailed more info on its decision:
"Today, we donated PLN 4 million to fight coronavirus - half of this amount as CD PROJEKT SA, and the other half privately. The private part was financed by the main shareholders and the management board of CD PROJEKT."
CD Projekt Red also went on to "thank the entire medical service and everyone involved in the fight," pleading with those who saw its Facebook message to "take seriously what is happening around us" and "stay at home and don't let the virus spread further".
