Sure, 100% completion status sounds like you've done and seen everything a game has to offer, does it not? But with Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition (STCE), that's just not the case.
Since the launch of STCE, the game's Level Designer, Jason Canam, has been teasing this elusive 101% completion rating via his Twitter account. Somewhere, tucked away very deviously in the game world, is a hidden room that hasn't been found by anyone without insider information. With some help, we've actually uncovered the location of this secret and we've also been provided with a little backstory from the developer regarding its existence.
Here's what DrinkBox had to tell us about what they're calling, the "Super Secret Meme Room."
Since the release of the original Guacamelee!, there had been some discussions online about all of the game references and internet meme references in the town areas of the game. They were a fun inclusion that started off as background dressing; a way for members of the team (mostly the Art Director, Stephane Goulet — who did an awesome job on all of them) to inject of little bit of themselves into the game's world. We never intended for them to become as much of a focal point of discussions as they had become.
Feedback was pretty universal: people loved the game references throughout, but weren't so keen on the internet-born memes. So, during the development of Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, while doing a graphical polish pass on the environment, we decided that we'd take the memes out.
It wasn't until late in development of STCE, when Steph, the Art Director and Jason, the Level Designer hatched a plan. The memes would live on... and then some. They built a secret room, full of memes (and powered by a script called: "LaserLightShow"). There's a unique chest in the room, containing a special reward for players that can find the elusive "meme room".
Don't worry, we've realized how rude it would be for us to spread the word about a secret of this magnitude without sharing a few pointers. So for those of you that don't want to explore and experiment without a bit of directive, we've put together a list of hints that should more than get you started. BUT...if you want to locate this secret without aid — ya know, bragging rights and everything — then be sure to steer clear of the following three lines of text and the image beyond the spoiler warning.
1. This secret area could only exist in STCE
2. Goat Fly is necessary to solve this "puzzle"
3. You should consider that we may be trolling you
WARNING
If you're interested in an exclusive sneak peek of the room you'll be hunting for, scroll down just a wee bit further. However, if you're the type that gets angered about spoilerific spoilers, well, it may be time for you to move on.

Holy crap! I've got work to do!
@BadWolf09 Hop to it! And don't forget to tell us if you find the room!
OMG. Give us one more tip, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease ........
@wender If you can figure out the significance of hint #3, then you won't have to do as much searching as you will experimenting.
I have to admit I am loving this game and honestly I would have never even tried this game if it wasn't for you all here at Pure Xbox. My son and I are having a complete blast with this game. One of the best things of this games is all the nods the give to various things in the game.
@Tasuki That's awesome to hear. I'm glad we could point you in the game's direction, so to speak!
Okay, found the secret, but can't quite seem to reach it. Any chance the images of Juan's moves you have after #3 have any significance to unlocking the puzzle?
Found it!

@maththeusername Way to go!! How long did it take you to figure it out?
@DRL I spent about an hour right after this article hit reddit. I saw the door open when I first started experimenting with the goat fly, but didn't know what triggered it. An hour later, with no trigger, I put it down. Then I picked it up a few minutes before I posted the video. That video is about 5 minutes into my second attempt.
@maththeusername I did too. Congratulations to us. @DLR Thanks for the tips, they were perfect. Not said exactly where it was, but it helped to find. I did not know what to do until you see the door closing. After was figuring out how to enter before it closes. It took "only" two hours. Kkkkkkkkkk. I'm proud of myself.
@maththeusername Yeah, I did the same initially. Screwed around for about an hour before getting frustrated and walking away for a bit. It's just SO easy to miss.
@wender You're very welcome! Glad you could figure it out. It's amazing that the secret stayed as secret as it did for so long. I honestly can't believe I didn't come across it during one of my three playthroughs, because I was experimenting with Goat Fly on every wall that would allow it, regardless of how small.
I still haven't played this yet. It's looking more appealing as days go by, though.
