Hi everyone, i have an xbox one x, just recently when i switch the console on via the controller, it chimes on then straight off snd then the power light flashes, the console takes a while to come on and there is no sound. I do the hard reset by pressing the power button until it goes off, switch it back on and it works fine, no flashing light and the sound works. I went into the video settings yesterday and the hdmi sound was off, i tried to put it to on to stereo 5.1 bit it kept saying there was a problem so wouldn’t change it, but again when it was hard reset the hdmi sound was set to stereo 5.1? Anybody have any ideas? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
I guess you could try a different TV and maybe even HDMI cable but it sounds like Xbox hardware failure to me. I know professional repairmen often replace an HDMI retimer chip but I am not qualified to know if that is what is wrong here.
Thanks, i will try it on another tv, its just gone out of guarantee as well, i have tried a couple of hdmi leads and am using the one that came with it at the moment so will see how it goes on another tv.
