In my opinion, it's the sort of thing that I'd expect them to do, but I honestly can't think of what they'd add to the controller to make it more "hardcore-friendly"!
Maybe programmable buttons, longer sticks with a greater range of motion, or trigger switches that reach down the back of the controller? I don't know.
It'll certainly be interesting to see what comes of it...
I really hope this isn't true, this just sounds like what Sony is doing with their "Premium Sound" memory cards. Unless there's actual improvement, which likely wouldn't merit the term "hardcore," this sounds like a rumor for clickbait. Nice comic though.
Love the comic @kyuubikid213 - especially funny as Microsoft is keen to cram the keyboard bindings of Elite into the hands of Xbox owners.
If I'm allowed to throw my 2 cents into this arena then I believe that Microsoft are going down the Scuff gaming route. There are already modifications that add up to 4 extra "paddles" underneath the battery pack, longer sticks for FPS aiming and trigger stops for lighting fast firing so I would expect these to come in the new controller. Apart from added grips and a slight change in erganomics I don't see what else they can do.
I would have mentioned Scuff here too. It seems that modified controllers like this are a big business and maybe MS want a slice of hat pie too. The only thing that disappoints me with the XB1 is the build quality of the controller - especially compared with its predecessor. They probably tried to cut the weight down more than purposefully reduced build quality but it feels more flimsy to me. I am sure that most 'hardcore' players also feel that these are not as well built to last the hours of gaming they put in. I hope they keep the Rumble packs though - something a lot of hardcore gamers remove.
A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!
Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
