Topic: Kinectanoia

Is it just me that suffers from a bit of Kinectanoia (Kinect + Paranoia)?

It sits on top of my TV looking sexy but in the back of my mind I can't help but think that now Microsoft have an eye into all of our homes... I find myself looking at it sometimes with suspision; the other night when I was lay in bed I wondered to myself what I would do if I heard a noise, looked up and just saw a glimpse of it peeking around my door

That said, I love it and love Microsoft!

I'm pretty sure that there's some privacy advocates who'd have a lot to say if MS were to tinker with checking out our homes when the console is off. So I feel safe with leaving it on. It's no different to a web camera.

with the facial recognition thats built in they are using for avatar kinect Id be more afraid if I was a criminal and using Kinect...

I'm surprised my wife has complained more about it. Especially how Kinect Adventures takes pictures and saves them. She's sometimes in the background and not always wanting to have her photo taken!
