If you could only play one video game for the next five years, which one would you choose? It has to be for Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One or Series X|S. Collections are not allowed to make it fair. Choose wisely...

Great thread. @Banjo- ! Hard to choose, indeed. But I will say my two picks...

Immortals: Fenyx Rising will be my choice as of now. In fact, I plan to come back to it soon to try to 100'd it (or, at least, get as far as I can go). I find this one very refreshing and relaxing and the art design and graphics are great. This game is one of the few "modern games" that kept me hooked and willing to play it to completion more than once. Plus, it reminded me when "big" games were easy going, fun, bright and colorful - not grim, sad and grey.

My second pick (in case Immortals is suddenly wiped out from the face of the earth, lol) will be...Hellblade. Many said this one is "easy" and "not very diverse" in the gameplay department, but I loved it anyway. As Immortals, I found this one easy to pick up and play - yes, the combat is "easy" but maybe that's why I liked it! And it isn't very long - this one reminded me when a great game could be short but intense. The puzzles are also "easy" but I loved them too. I love this game and is one I find very relaxing - yes, despite the dark story. And the story, about letting go and move forward (at least, that's what I make of it), resonated with me on another level. Great, great game.

@HarmanSmith Thank you and thanks everybody else. It was an idea I had while replaying Maiden of Black Water before Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is released next month. I don't know what game I'm going to choose yet, it's a very difficult choice and that's why I was thinking about it and posted the thread because I want to know other people's choice. I agree about Immortals Fenyx Rising, I completed it 100% on Series X and it looks gorgeous, polished, runs flawlessly and the whole game is really fun to play. I haven't played Hellblade but I will.

@Banjo- I know! I am excited too to play Mask of the Lunar Eclipse soon. I hope it fares well to get more Fatal Frame/Project Zero outings in the next years

Right! 🙌 The remaster of Maiden of Black Water is the most successful entry to date commercially and Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is better and looks more like a remake, so hopefully the other three games are remastered/remade as well🤞.

Only one game for 5 years? Phew. That will be tough. I'll have to go with Elder Scrolls Online then. That game has so much content and it keeps getting added all the time.
If I have to chose a single player game it has to be a very long one as well and I''l chose my favorite game of all time: The Witcher 3. The only game i own on Pc, Xbox and Playstationd

Probably Forza Horizon 4 since I do that already pretty much with FH3. I say 4 because, I haven't really played it much so everything will be new and fresh as opposed to 3. Don't get me wrong there's still plenty I can do on 3 but I am not sure if there is 5 years worth of stuff left for me to do.

I was thinking MMO as well and World of Warcraft came to mind, but since it's not on console. Elder Scrolls.would probably be my next choice.

Good topic @Banjo- . It's a difficult one. I would have to go with Pinball Arcade or PFX 3 with all the DLC. 100 tables with 18ish days to master each one. Only other game I could handle for 5 years would be a driving game with lots of cars and tracks. 5 years in an MMO would send me mad

Remember that you can choose a single-player game with no content being added because you'd replay it. That makes the decision more difficult. A (real-life) friend of mine's favourite game is The Witcher 3 like for some of you and it's a huge game with the two expansions being included so very good candidate. I haven't played it yet. In my defence, I started it on Xbox One X and then the Series X version was announced so I put it again in my queue.

@GarbonZoni Thanks. A pinball game is a wise choice if you like the genre.

@Banjo- Aye. I'm a big Pinball fan. I picked up the Witcher 3 in a sale for £6 just as the update dropped. Whichever game you choose has to have plenty of content just for varieties sake. But I think for most people that like them an MMO is a good choice.

For an Xbox game I'd have to go with Forza Horizon 4 or 5, probably 5 though. Unlimited combinations and variables to mess with for 5 years

@Banjo- Just read about the pre-orders for the new Fatal frame. Have you got your order in yet?

Banjo-

@GarbonZoni Yes, I just pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition to support the series, hoping that we get The Tormented, Crimson Butterfly and the first game as well. Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is awesome, I imported the Japanese disc for Wii back in the day. I played it in English with the fan patch.

What a fun yet challenging question! If I had to make a choice, I'd go with Counter-Strike 2 without a doubt. The fast-paced action and competitive nature of CS2 have always kept me hooked, and I could see myself happily playing it for the next five years.
Besides, I recently stumbled upon a marketplace for CS2 skins https://bitskins.com/market/cs2 , and it's added a whole new level of excitement to the game. Customizing your weapons and gear is not only fun but also adds a unique touch to the gameplay.
It's all about finding that one game that you can truly immerse yourself in, and for me, CS2 fits the bill. What about you? What game would you choose for the next five years of gaming adventures?

I would be inclined to say one of the Batman games (maybe Kight). Had a real crush on the Batman games this summer. They have such a cool atmosphere. Its only been like a month or so that I have able to play something else.

Starfield.

Haven't even played it yet, but it's clear the game has a massive scope, and there are likely to be expansions and DLC added. Toss in mods as well, and you could probably fill five years with just that.

Alternatively, Minecraft, and then spend the subsequent years figuring out how to build an in-game computer capable of playing the original DOOM.
