Do any none-xbox controllers work on Series S/X? - Xbox Series X|S Forum

Grabbed Guilty Gear Strive from GP and my goodness, the Series S controller (specifically the dpad) is hideous for fighting games. I am failing to consistently get out forward jumps, with neutral jumps coming out instead. I've tried using the stick (welp), but the deadzone and general lack of gate gives me hit and miss results. So my question is, are there any pads from other consoles that can work on Series S/X? Preferably without a USB gadget.

@GarbonZoni nice! I thought it might need a firmware upgrade or something which I'm always apprehensive to do 😅

I nearly bricked my Mayflash Magic S Pro adapter by doing the update. Turns out that you have to do it from Windows according to Mayflash support and I had temporarily bricked mine by doing it from Mac. Good job I had an old laptop laying about to fix it at the time!

@ralphdibny I'm the same with firmware upgrades, luckily I haven't bricked anything yet. They recommend that you update your Xbox pad which is a simple process. Mine was already up to date, so like I said it's straight forward to get it working. You can also switch it to act as the left stick which is great if you like using mame etc.
