Topic: The thorny issue of clicking agreements before you play a new game

Simply put
1) Have you ever fully read any agreements before you click 'i agree" to play a new game?
2) Do you fully understand the agreement?
3) Do you believe that their should be more choices other agree or disagree?
4) Have you ever been called out on something that you agreed upon?
5) Do you believe these agreements help or hinder you in any possible conflicts with the said agreements?
6) Can you think of a better way to deliver these agreements to gamer's other than being forced to read through pages of legal documents?
7) If you are using a "used" game product should the terms and conditions also be valid? Since someone else before you had to sign that agreement, should the terms and conditions still apply equally?

I just want to say I do not have any problem with these agreements. I hope this topic does not trigger or upset anyone here. I brought this topic up in another forum and it got shut down within a few hours of posting it. I am curious as too how many folks actually read or understand what exactly is being agreed too.
Before video gaming we used to have board and card games. I don't remember ever having to sign or agree upon any terms, conditions etc before playing them.

Most of these agreements lead to two choices...play the game or don't, so I would assume most just accept them.

You don't stop gaming because you get old, you get old because you stop gaming.

Thanks for being the 1st one to reply to this thread.
Signing all these different contracts is kinda like, trying to read every word on a prescription info sheet. Are you really gonna read and understand every word and understand all the possible side effects? or just the simple instructions such as take 2 pills twice a day for 4 weeks. The only time i ever totally read a privacy, code of conduct etc document, was right after seeing that South park episode where one of the characters agreed to become a human centipede after not reading the agreement lol.
I just think the gaming companies that out these out , should make them more user friendly or fun.

Aside from EULAs I've seen that have a short summary at the top, I don't think much can be done. Frivolous lawsuits would be easier without them. Of course, EULAs can also be abused to escape more legitimate concerns and I never like trusting corporations. I wish there were more gamers who thought about these things. It seems many are either angry Reddit gamer rage types that lash out at everything for the sake of it, or happily throwing their parent's money at FIFA lootboxes and making EA rich.
