Talking Point: Would You Play An Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Remake?

Doubt I’d double dip even after all these years. I’d probably be more interested in an AC2 remake at this point.

Black Flag was a great pirate game but it wasn’t a great AC game for me.

Yes. Absolutely! I pre-ordered the game when it first came out, and for whatever reason, I never got round to playing it. Indeed, I still have it on disc. I won't be making that same mistake again. I will definitely play it this time...

Nope. It is one of my least favorite Assassin's Creed games. A remake can't fix its problems.
The only remake I would be kind of interested would be a remake of the first one.

My thoughts are usually if the original is still great then a remake is not necessary. Black Flag is still fun in its original form and I enjoy going back to it from time to time.

I don't think I will pay anything close to full price for a remake of a game I still enjoy in original form. When it gets to that $20 or less range I will probably check it out. Oblivion has kind of cemented this stance of not getting too excited even when it's a remake of an absolute favorite of mine.

No, I still have my Wii U version & still play that from time to time. A new version does not interest me for this. Or any AC remakes.

It would have to have a BIG upgrade in the stealth department for me to play it again. Older ACs had awful stealth. Combat was also pretty boring with the “block and repost” loop. What made the game great was the naval combat so boarding should be seamless now.

My favourite AC. Would be a rare day one purchase for me.

No I think my days playing the assassins creed franchise are over I was only really into the games up to black flag but after that no!
They should of given the franchise a reboot and after Desmond getting killed off except for black flag I wasn't bothered 🙅

If they really up the quality of exploration and the naval combat, I'd definitely come back. That said, I would have massively preferred a straight up sequel.

I might eventually try it one day if it happens, but I'm personally getting fed up with constant remakes. Take Tomb Raider or Resident Evil 4, for example. They were fantastic games when I played them in the 90s and 2000s. However, I would much rather play something new and exciting instead of revisiting the same games from my younger days.

Nah, I would not play a remake of Black Flag simply because I'd rather stay away from anything related to that specific game.
That and modern-day Ubisoft kinda fails more than they succeed in my opinion, even if there are a few exceptions here and there that prove modern Ubisoft games can be good, like Frontiers of Pandora and Outlaws.

Definitely. Great escapism in that game. Proper pirate fantasy.

To elaborate, Black Flag to me is the game Skull and Bones should have been and NOT an Assassins Creed game. It would have been much better as a Pirate game and I expect an Assassin to be silent, stealthy, blend in and everything that's NOT a Pirate.

Yes! I have played all the AC games, and I agree with many that it is not really an AC game. But: It is such a wonderful pirate simulator, I don't really care. Bring on the seven seas!

My least liked entry in the franchise? Absolutely not.

@Lup I replayed and 100% AC1 a year or so ago, and I gotta admit it holds up just as well as the Ezio Collection remastered games. It still looks great.
Doesn't change the fact i'd also love a full remake of it.

I’d prefer they remake it in the newer AC RPG style. The old one holds up fine but the game design, linearity, combat and stealth is creaky (I 100%’d it last year). Mirage showed that they can’t make the old formula new.

And the office Animus stuff has got to go.

100% yes. It would not be my top pick for a full-on remake (Ezio Trilogy as a remake would be ideal, or a big rewriting and expansion on AC 1...) but I still would play the hell out of it.

Heck I think AC3 would also make a way better remake, with expanded open world and finally properly making justice to the civil war battles with hundreads of NPCs battling it out....

But yes yes yes I would jump on AC4 remake.

Just ignore all the voices saying the Animus stuff has to be removed... my biggest complaint with Shadows was the Animus stuff was basically not there at all.

No other than dino crisis leave remakes alone now I'm sick of them this obsession with remakes or remasters is out of hand and souls like games as well that's another one

I rarely replay games, there is just too many games I have to try and play, I don't have time to replay what I have already experienced,only on rare occasion.

Yes, day 1! Loved it, and a remake would be awesome!

100% yes. Loved it back in the day so would give this another go. Would be great if they modernise some parts
