Talking Point: Will ROG Xbox Ally Be Your First 'Handheld Gaming PC'?

With this week's Amazon leak providing our latest look at the ROG Xbox Ally, we're creeping ever closer to this thing potentially dominating the conversation at Gamescom 2025 - at least when it comes to Xbox news. The device is confirmed for both the show floor and Xbox's first livestream broadcast, and ahead of all the news flooding in next week, we want to know if the system may end up becoming your first 'handheld PC' experience.

Over here at Pure Xbox HQ, we've had plenty of 'hands on' time with a few of these sorts of systems. I personally owned a Steam Deck for a few years, while former staffer Craig actually messed around with the standard ROG Ally for review back in the day. In fact, the only one of us who's not really played with any of these handheld gaming PCs is Fraser!

So, where are you at with this emerging hardware market within gaming? Do you own one of these and are simply intrigued by the ROG Xbox Ally? Have you been holding out for the Xbox version of these systems like Fraser? Conversely, are you not really bothered by these sorts of devices? They're definitely a bit more niche than your standard gaming console!

We want to know how you're feeling about the ROG Xbox Ally as we head into pre-orders likely being opened up next week. Talk to us about where you're at, whether you're thinking of buying one of these, and how excited you are about learning more during Gamescom 2025. Oh, and we'll chuck a couple of links down below so you don't miss all of the important Gamescom timings.

Tell us what you think about potentially buying an ROG Xbox Ally in the comments!
