Rumour: Xbox One to Launch on November 8th

Posted by Ken Barnes

Leaked documents point to date

The Xbox One may well be available in stores on November 8th. That's according to Kotaku, who have managed to get their hands on a document leaked by a marketing company that produces signage and product placement plans for Walmart in the US.

The document lists a whole bunch of upcoming midnight launches that will take place at the retailer, from Madden on August 27th, through to the PlayStation 4 launch on November 15th. The penultimate entry in the list though, clearly states "Xbox 1 Console - November 8th." All of the other entries in the list are marked as "Confirmed", with the Xbox One missing that tag. This suggests that it could just be a "best guess" by the retail giant.

We're expecting the Xbox One to launch in that week at the very least, but we'll bring you more as it breaks.

Just as I figured, only 7-10 days ahead of PS4 so not much of a head start, it's simply going to come down to games and unless I'm underestimating how much North American gamers care about indie games, I think MS' launch lineup is much stronger and should be able to overcome the $100. If I hadn't been so worried about trying to lock up a PS4 for day one I could've waited for MS to make all these changes and then went with X1 instead. I'm having buyer's remorse and the consoles aren't even out yet.

@Gamer83: You could just sell your PS4 reservation on ebay for twice the price and get an Xbox One that way.

LOL. I could but I don't like doing that stuff and I know I'm going to end up with both consoles at some point anyway.
