Analyst Suggests Pre-Launch Xbox One Price Cut Is On The Way

Posted by Ken Barnes

MCV are reporting that RW Baird's Senior Equity Research Analyst Colin Sebastian, is predicting a price cut for the Xbox One before it even hits the shelves.

Sebastian, who recently predicted that both the Xbox One and PS4 will be hard to find on the shelves this Christmas due to shipment numbers, thinks that the platform holder is "working with channel partners to lessen the gap" between the Xbox One's £429.99 and the PS4's £349.99 RRP.

In addition, the analyst thinks that Microsoft may be able to ship two or three times as many consoles as Sony will at launch, effectively giving them a massive advantage heading into 2014.

Obviously, this is just one man's opinion, but there isn't generally smoke without fire. If anything happens with regards to this, it'll be at Gamescom in Cologne in August, where Microsoft are said to have a large presence. We'll bring you all the details as soon as we can.
