Call of Duty: Ghosts Confirmed

Xbox 360 version, and next-gen likely.

Activision has formally confirmed that Infinity Ward are developing Call of Duty: Ghosts and it will be released worldwide on November 5th. Currently, the game is confirmed as headed to the Xbox 360.

Interestingly though, it has been confirmed that the game will be shown at Microsoft's next-generation Xbox reveal on May 21st. We highly, HIGHLY doubt that Microsoft will be showing off any Xbox 360-only titles at that conference, so we can pretty much put it in the books that a next-generation version is likely. Xbox 720 to launch on November 5th? We didn't say that...

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. said:-

"Infinity Ward set the gold standard for first-person action for a generation, and they're going to do it again with Call of Duty: Ghosts. Ghosts delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new Call of Duty world, all powered by a next generation Call of Duty engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise. Infinity Ward is going all-in to create the next generation of Call of Duty worthy of the world's greatest fans."

Mark Rubin, executive producer of Infinity Ward, said:-

"Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we're not resting on our laurels. We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we're building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can't wait to share them with our community."

An official reveal trailer has been released also, which you can see below.
