Topic: Sniper Elite Question

Okay, so I've got an itch I need to scratch that dates back to the Ghillied Up achievement in COD MW. I like sniper missions in games. I've been tempted several times to get Sniper Elite but never committed. Now my dilemma is - do I get v2 for free with GwG next month on my 360, or stick some cash up for v3 on my XB1?

Anyone played both and can give a recommendation?

I haven't played either but my thoughts are get the free one first and if you like it buy the other one.

That's where I got to with my 'sensible' head on. Just wondered if the XB1 version was better enough to warrant some £'s

3 is better than 2, to the extent that I finished 3 but abandoned 2 as some bits were just bleh.........

v3 Ultimate Edition is under £29 on Amazon right now. Hmmm May have to pre-order that and play v2 while I wait.

3 is a good game, I enjoyed it a lot more than 2. But after playing Far Cry 4 it's going to feel like a bit of a come down... it's a bit rough around the edges, hard to explain but you'll know when you play. I've not finished 3 yet but I did get several missions into the campaign.

V2 was plagued by some really stupid level design. I'll never understand why a sniper game has quite so many cramped confined levels where the furthest you can get from the target is about three feet.

3 however had several really massive bugs and glitches, one of which meant I literally couldn't continue further than about 1/3 of the way through. I couldn't activate a check point because of an alarm that could only be shut off by killing a guard who hadn't spawned. The auto save had happened after the bug so I was forced to give up.

It feels weird not being able to ban people

Sounding more like Crippy's advice is good advice. Maybe I'll give v2 a spin for free next month and consider v3 if I have nowt else to play LOL

Played v2 (still am playing it), bought v3 in the Xbox sale for a tenner. Loved it.
