What tariffs are causing for prices here in the states. Nintendo’s lucky to have kept the Switch 2’s price the same (at least for now, not sure about the coming months), but Sony better hope they don’t get hit and have to raise prices as well.

I mean, if they do still add a disc drive, it will be more like the PS5 situation where you can buy the drive separately.

Physical media for the dedicates Xbox handheld will probably end up being cartridge-based like the Switch and Switch 2, as well as any past handhelds except the PS Portable.

Maybe the actual Xbox handheld will have some sort of compatibility with the next Xbox console, probably remote play and what not.

Probably won’t get it but I’ like to know how they would implement the PC-Like behavior.

If they bring it to Switch 2, how will they even get it to work assuming Switch 2 doesn’t have analog triggers?

@Ilyn I don’t even own an Xbox, but starting to see news on what Microsoft is doing leads me to wonder what’s next for Xbox.

@BSlyTheGamerGuy I know Xbox isn’t actually leaving the hardware market despite what they’re now doing, but I just wonder where they will go with an Xbox handheld. Even though I don’t own an Xbox, I somehow liked its UI more than the PlayStation UI.

@Weebleman Don’t be shocked if Xbox leaves the console space and just goes full-on publisher mode after this generation.

@Master_Cthulhu70 I think most people are saying Xbox as a console brand is dying because they are just sending all their games to other platforms (including Nintendo Switch 2) and it’s exclusives that contribute to console sales. It’s the reason Nintendo is never sending their games to other platforms.

What games are planned for Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5?

@IOI The question is: Would people prefer an Xbox handheld that can only play Xbox games, or a competitor (like a PlayStation handheld that can, Steam Deck, ROG Ally or even the Switch 2) that plays other games alongside Xbox games? Sony might have a better chance with a new PlayStation handheld than Microsoft does with an Xbox handheld, especially with Xbox no longer doing exclusives.

@Secryt I originally have been wanting an Xbox for years but my parents kept saying no. If this is true where Xbox is sending more games off to other platforms like Nintendo or PlayStation, it makes me question if I even want to get an Xbox anymore, especially an Xbox handheld.

Welp, Microsoft jeopardized any chance at people buying an Xbox console in the future, especially an Xbox handheld. At that point why get an Xbox when people can just get a Switch 2 and either a PS5, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or a traditional gaming PC.

Once they bring Game Pass over to other devices like Switch 2, that’s the end.
