Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?

Don’t forget the people claiming the PS5 Pro is definitely coming are the same people that said the Switch Pro was definitely coming.

A mid-gen upgrade for the PS5 and Series X just isn’t needed this time around. Not to mention the current gen machine cost MORE now than when they released so how much would a Pro model have to be? £650, £700, more.

That’s a lot of money for a console that’s likely to be replaced with a new generation in 3 years. Or less.

I already don’t buy games that I won’t own. So nothing always online that will one day just go away and nothing that the entire game playable from beginning to end is not present on the disc. I make some rare exceptions for indie games where a physical release simple doesn’t make sense but for everything else if I won’t OWN it I don’t buy it.

So a cloud only future will save me a LOT of money and I’ll still own thousands of games I can play.

@Tintin I didn’t even consider the inevitable forced time and content restrictions we KNOW governments would impose like China already has.

You go to play a game and a government message pops up…

Sorry, no games for you, work/school in the morning.

Sorry, this content is no longer deemed socially acceptable and has been disabled.

Sorry, you have exceeded your maximum playtime for today/week.

Sorry, you didn’t pay enough income tax last month so you don’t have time to play games. Go out and earn us some money.
