Xbox Adds Background & Gamer Pics To Celebrate 25 Years of Play 1

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Xbox has unveiled a fancy new batch of gamerpics alongside an all new dynamic background for Xbox Series X|S.

Aye aye, to celebrate 25 big years of Xbox, Microsoft has released a community-inspired dynamic background showcasing Xbox's core four franchises in the styling of Klobrille.

It's lovely to see Halo, Gears, Fable, and Forza all featured on my Xbox dashboard, even if the the dynamic elements are a little understated. In addition to the new background, Xbox has teamed up with community member, Ben Kenobi to create three new gamerpics.

And before you comment, no, Morgan Freeman isn't part of the collection. I've simply exposed my decision to rock his portrait as my Xbox 360 gamerpic.

Alongside the new dynamic background and gamerpics, there are a few extra bits worth mentioning. If you sign in to your Xbox account on console, PC, or the mobile app, you may notice a new 25th Anniversary Badge on your profile. It's a nice wee badge to celebrate Xbox's milestone ahead of November 15th.

Xbox Game Pass also gets a series of specially curated collections celebrating the games that define Xbox across its generations. Keep an eye out for console-specific collections, franchise spotlights, and a selection of other titles Microsoft has chosen to tip its cap to.
