Scalpers Are Already Trying To Sell The Xbox 25th Anniversary Console At Insane Prices

Back in June, we mentioned how Microsoft was trying to combat scalpers with the release of the highly-anticipated Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console, and that turned out to be in the form of an early access window for loyal fans.

Yesterday, Microsoft emailed a bunch of people with the ability to pre-order the console ahead of time, before wider pre-orders were then opened up to everyone earlier today.

However, the system has proven very popular already, and people have been spotting the console up for sale at thousands of dollars online, as well as thousands of pounds here in the UK.

This was always expected to be the case, and it's really useful that Microsoft came up with the early access idea to help avoid the worst of it, although we noticed a few people didn't get the email despite being big Xbox fans. Not sure what happened there - the criteria for being picked was never formally revealed.
