by It's been a very long time now since Ubisoft released Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands on the Xbox One back in 2017, and the game has remained locked to 30FPS on all Xbox consoles ever since.
That could be about to change very soon though, as an eagle-eyed fan spotted over the weekend that a "major update" is being advertised on the Xbox Store which suggests 4K and 60FPS support is incoming.
As you can see in the top-right of this image, it mentions the "full game" will be at 4K and 60FPS:
All of the other content here is part of the Ghost Recon Wildlands "Definitive Edition", but it's also mentioned that the update will include a new mission — and we're crossing our fingers that the 4K, 60FPS upgrade won't require any additional purchases such as the Definitive Edition itself, which just released back in early July for £84.99 / $99.99.
It's also worth noting that Ghost Recon Wildlands is available with Xbox Game Pass for members of the Ultimate and Premium tiers, so should the upgrade be free, many of us will be able to try it without owning the game directly.
Stay tuned, and we'll let you know if and when this 4K, 60FPS upgrade is confirmed for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (and PS5 for that matter!). As long as it wasn't a mistake, we assume we're only talking a few days or weeks.
